We have an in-house custom-built silverlight app. We currently use Cognos for our reporting needs. When users log into Cognos to run reports, they first log into the silverlight app, they then select “reports” from the menu and are hyperlinked to the Cognos Report Manager outside of the silverlight app. They then must log into Cognos separately. We want to eliminate the need for a double login as we transition our reports to SSRS. Can this be done using any of the following options?
Option1: Manage security from within the silverlight app and therefore run the reports from within a silverlight app form.
Option2: Map users between Windows Login and the silverlight app user ID.
Option3: Is there a 3rd option?

Hey Bob,
How exactly are you planning on making the SSRS reports available within your Silverlight app? If you're using something like the Perpetuumsoft control, then you can do either of your options 1 or 2. If you're going to try and 'house' the Report Manager within a 'browser' type control (thinking Silverlight 4) then it may be a little more difficult, though you could probably assume Integrated security will work if your targeting IE as a browser (if not, then frefox, chrome etc will likely still prompt for credentials).
Steve.
