Hi,
We are building a 2 node Active/Passive cluster for sql server 2008 R2 and this instance going to store the Share Point 2010 databases. I'm going through the below link
Question:
Does Share Point application require/ uses MSDTC? and does MSDTC has to be configured as cluster resource when the cluster nodes are dedicated to store Share Point 2010 databases?
Please advice
Thanks

I know for sharepoint 2007 , you need to use "distributed transaction coordinator" service.

If you're clustering SQL Server then you need to cluster MSDTC. If the clustered SQL Server instance fails over and the local MSDTC is in use then after failover the local DTC name would be invalid. This is why you cluster MSDTC with a clustered instance of SQL Server.
