In sql server 2005, when mirroring was launched then this was advised not to use mirroring in production environment. Does this still happen in sql server 2008? Headsup!!
Can I use mirroring in sql server which is going to be used in production environment?
Is this required to switch trace# 1400 on still in sql server 2008 or this is a thing of past?

When the RTM version of SQL 2500 was released DB Mirroring was not "ready yet" and so MS decided to disable it. You could enable mirroring by setting the 1400 trace flag.
With the release of SP1 for SQL 2005, mirroring became officially supported and there was no more need for setting the trace flag.
For SQL 2008 DB mirroring was always supported. So yes, cou can use it in production.

Yes you can use it now, in production. I looked after several mirror groups when I worked at major airports.
