Hi guys,
I m having windows server 2000 std 32bit on which SQL server 2000 std is installed.
Now we are planning to upgrade windows server 2000 std to windows server 2003 std(we r not going to format).
My question is,
Will that hamper the functioning of sql server or not?

link is related to 32 vs 64 bit.
In my case both the versions of OS are 32 bit only

Hi,
First, why you need to change to 2003 x32 bit? Any specific reason for this, other wise this not affects the normal functions of the SQL 2000.

Set up a test server and try the upgrade out. Seriously, you should not be considering doing something like this to your production server without any idea what's going to happen.
Test it out. See what happens, see what problems you run into and work them out.

Yes, I do agree with Gila.
Always play safe when matter is for Production server.
Also keep the backup of all database including system database and keep it on other server or Tape for safer side.
