Hi,
After checking the correct processor type of my pc, i had downloaded the correct trail version of sql server 2008 from MS site..
Now when i executed the setup for X86, it came with message that.. it needs some prerequisites to be installed first .. as i had already connected to internet then it started to download window installer 3.5 and it did installed itself and then it stopped and it didn't move ahead..then i moved to setup folder and after getting setup.exe file.. i clicked on that but for a very few secs only a black window appeared and got lost.. i tried two three times but it always kept on failing.
I removed all the prerequisites that was mentioned during the setup and tried to installed them again.. but again it failed..
On net i found that MS 2000 may disable this MS 2008 so i removed all 2000 installations.. but still it didn't work for me.
I have tried to remove all the steup files from the dvd and recopied again on that and installing again but i failed..
May anyone please let me know where i am missing any thing??
Thanks,
Santosh Singh

After the prerequisets get (.Net 3.5 and Windows Installer ) installed you need to reboot your system. After the reboot run the setup again and this time it should go through.
