Hi, we need to hire a true SQL Server expert for a day or two of consulting in optimizing a new golf scoring system under heavy load. We've ran into some deadlock errors during the first event the system was tested with and realized that some pieces may need to be re-designed, most likely requiring adding triggers and summary tables and perhaps even having multiple servers for reading and writing. Unfortunately, those things are outside of the level of expertise of our web developers. We are located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

I recommend the same person I recommended when you posted to SQLTeam. http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=161474

Does location matter? Meaning, could people work remotely? I know several people (including me) who have lower rates for remote work.

If you read the original thread over at SQLTeam, he wants someone on-site for a couple of days.

Gila, thanks for the recommendation, I've attempted to contact both people that were mentioned in the other forum.
Ideally we'd like to have someone that can come into the office and meet with us in person and draw stuff on the white-board etc. However, if we can't find a local expert, we could potentially arrange an online meeting.

Adding triggers should be considered carefully because they can make your deadlock issues even worse.
Some of the poorest database designs I've ever seen were concocted by web designers. You do need some good expertise; wish I lived closer or still had my Piper Comanche.
