I have two reports. One is a main report that has a text box with the action property set to jump to the other report. The main report is passing two parameters to the other report. While in Visual studio this functionality works great! I am able to jump to the 2nd report and then navigate back to the main report to the state it was in before the text box was clicked. However, when the reports are deployed I loose the functionality to jump back to the main report from the 2nd report, to the state previous state. It causes me to have to rerun the main report again.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding this? My client just recently upgraded to SSRS 2008 R2. This was not an issue in previous version from what I remember.
Thanks

I'm not sure if it helps but I have ssrs 2005 SP4 here and the back button in IE 8 brings me back to the parent report in its state before the drill-through.

When the back button is clicked in returns to the main report but in it's original state. All the paramaters are reset to the default and you have to rerun the report all over again. As I said this was not an issue in previous versions

As I said previously, I'm not sure my comment is of any help :w00t:.
I don't have 2008 R2 here so I can't do any tests.

Could it be effect from caching effect in IE?
If IE is set to refresh the page on each load, it would cause the same effect...

I'm using RS2008 SP2 and IE8 on Vista. The back button works for me, I get to the original report in its previous state without it reloading ...
Check your service pack version and IE version?

If the subreport back button ( <--) works in Visual Studio (BIDS) then the subreport back button (web browser) should work in Report Manager. Many times the back button in Visual Studio works but not in Report Manager, the fix is to delete both the main and subreport from Report Manager, then re-deploy both from Visual Studio to Report Manager.

Are you talking sub reports or drill through?

To be more specific, I am talking linked reports using the "jump to" action.

In IE8 I don't get the same "previous report" button I get in BIDS; I just use the browser's back button (and it worked).
