Dear all,
We use ArcServ 12 to perform hot backups of our SQL Server 2000 database. I've recently spotted the following messages in the error log -
Database backed up: Database: master, creation date(time): 2008/06/13(12:22:29), pages dumped: 2420, first LSN: 541:357:1, last LSN: 541:359:1, number of dump devices: 1, device information: (FILE=1, TYPE=DISK: {'D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\data\temp\1093\Image.master.1093.bak'}).
Starting up database 'BBSn_1093_master'.
Bypassing recovery for database 'BBSn_1093_master' because it is marked IN LOAD.

Database restored: Database: BBSn_1093_master, creation date(time): 2008/06/13(12:22:29), first LSN: 541:357:1, last LSN: 541:359:1, number of dump devices: 1, device information: (FILE=1, TYPE=DISK: {'D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\data\temp\1093\Image.master.1093.bak'}).
I'm interested to know what is going on here. The user databases that are being backed up by ArcServer don't have similar associated messages. I'm not an ArcServer 12 expert so this may be normal activity.
Thanks
Stephen

I believe your server experienced an unexpected termination. It roll-forward for uncommitted transactions after restarted.
