Please restart your sql server and check if it works.

I'm not a fan of intellisense, when it works, it doesn't do enough.
That said, instead of sp_who2, take a look at sys.dm_exec_requests and see if you see an active connection that is blocked or waiting for the intellisense task. If so, figure out what it's waiting on. It might be blocked by another process or it might be loading a large set of tables or something. If not, try killing the process. I wouldn't reboot.

Please restart your sql server and check if it works.
uhh..no.
intellisense as well as syntax highlighting are contained in a DLL called from the client app of SSMS; nothing to do with the server...
so don't bounce the server for no reason.
best thing to do would be
1 check your file associations: for example, if SSMS doesn't look at .txt files the same way as .sql files,
refresh the intellisense, as it ccan get confused when switching databases sometimes, or if intellisense still doesn't work
maybe repair/reinstall the client tools

Try registering a DLL by running the given command in run window - [regsvr32 "%commonprogramfiles%\microsoft Shared\MSEnv\TextMgrP.dll"].

That's not what she asked. What SERVER's version are you connecting TO. You can't use intellisense in the edition you're connected to is pre-2008.
