Well, if you herd fifty developers into a crowded hangar, they have no other way to stay reasonably sane and actually finish anything.
Expect lower productivity, quicker burnout, no teamwork, no knowledge transfer and no loyalty anyway.
Shame I hate this kind of ... erm ... music so much that I cannot use it as a kind of white noise to block the racket.
Not that it matters now that I work from home.

Really depends on my mood.
I prefer Trance and Progressive dance music; I dislike techno, which is a specific genre of dance music, so stop lumping all dance music under "techno"
But then I might also switch to some Aerosmith, Nina Simone, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, classical music or maybe even something from the 40's or 70's.
However, you will never catch me listening to modern R&B or Hip Hop.

I absolutely agree! I love listening to Progressive House, Electro House, and NOT techno. My favorite day of the week is Friday because of Radio 1's 12 hours of dance music. It starts at 10 AM Pacific time and it really gets me through the day.
Quick Pick:
Deadmau5 - Not Exactly

David Guetta - When Love Takes Over (Electro Edit)
Sarah McLachlan - Silence (Niels Van Gogh vs Thomas Gold Remix)
Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feelin (David Guetta Remix)
Chicane - Popiholla (Radio Mix)

For the longest time, I didn't even know what the real title was...

For those that like both metal & classical, check out the band Break of Reality (www.breakofreality.com) - 3 classical cellists & 1 percussionist that started out playing covers of Metallica & such, now have their own library of compositions - excellent!
