Afternoon all,
Is it possible to run multiple tablix using different critertia for each report for the same user and present this to the user via hyperlink so they can view their live data at any point. I can present the information on different reports but when I try to add a second matrix to an existing sheet the second matrix automatically uses the filter data from the first sheet so I end up with incorrect information in the second matrix.
You'll have to forgive me if I have not explained this correctly as I am still a newby to SSRS
Thanks
Chris

You can have multiple matrices on a single report, yes. How are you filtering your results, at the dataset level? Perhaps a better idea would be to do your filters on the matrix itself, rather that at the dataset, as each on can have it's own rules.

Sorry still a newby to this. How do I do it on the matrix itself?

Also can I also create a link to that so each user can only view their own report via a webpage
Thanks

Click on your Matrix, and you'll see a Grey border area around it. In the top left there'll be a small box. Right click that and click "Tablix Properties". Then go to the Filters Pane, and you can add filters only for that Matrix (which, if you wish, can be based off parameters).

Is this parameter derived? On the Report Server Portal, you can pass a parameter as part of the report URL yes. Note, however, that it doesn't stop someone change the URL in their address bar to view other details (even if the parameter is hidden).

Sorry I dont understand what you mean by is the parameter derived?
My intention is to create the same report for each user and give them the link to their own unique report if thats possible. The SSRS 2014 reporting software is embedded into our accounts package and I want to give people live reports of there unique data that they can look at any point in the day/month/year

Creating a report for each user would be A LOT of work. Say that you need to implement a change, and you have 12 users. That's 12 reports you need to change. It would be much easier to set up the report to accept a parameter with the user's name/ID (something identifying), so that the report loads that users data only.

Im not sure that the embedded version of SSRS that we have can achieve that which is why I was going for indivdual reports. Also only 4 users have actual access to the reports program on our package which again was another reason for having individual reports and hyperlinks

Use built in User!UserID to identify the user and filter the data accordingly
Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.

Thanks David and Thom A both your input has been most appreciated.
Using individual criteria on each report is working well but a couple of tables seem to be duplicating data returned, do you have any idea why. It is only basic filters for each table by user ID
Thanks
Chris
