Hi,
I have installed the sql server 2008 R2 Evaluation version(64 bit) on my machine which is runnig on windows 7 home premium(64 bit).
however, when I start the SQL Management Studio, it does NOT See my MSSQLSERVER instance. I.
When I look at my Services Page in task manager, I see the instance is running.
experts, pls advise me to solve this problem.
PS: i have attached the screen shot herewith

Use your local computer name as the servername, or a "." <- dot...since it's installed as the default instance.
Post the error you receive.

Thanks a lot.. I was able to login just using by pc name.
