Hi all,
just a little question... does the MSSQL2000 Client tools are free licensing?

My understanding is that as long as you have a CAL (either explicit, or implied in a per processor environment), you can use it for anything, even MSDE. If this is just for your own use on your desktop, and if you don't have a SQL license of any kind, you can get the developer edition of SQL Server pretty cheap.
Perhaps someone from MS will pop in and correct me if I'm wrong.

If you' re looking for a simple graphical tool to manage MSDE, you can download the SQL Server Management Studio Express from Microsoft. This free tool is part of the SQL Server Express (the 2005 successor to MSDE) and can also be used to manage MSDE.
