Currently i am using MSSQL 2005 in which i have given the permission to the different database users..
Now I wanted to install MSSQL 2008... doubt is here that if i restore a databases in MSSQL 2008 then can i use the permission which i set previouse in MSSQL 2005 version??????
or do i need to set the permission again???
Which is the good service pack in MSSQL 2008????

You need to recreate the users on the new server, but then the permissions on the db level should work.

Script them from 2005 and run the script on 2008.
