We were getting errors with MSDTC("New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator"). Then we found the article in Microsft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839279) and followed the instruction on Uninstalling and Installing MSDTC. Now we get a different error(MSDTC on server 'SERVERNAME' is unavailable.).
Any help on solving this is appreciated.
Thanks

the service pack adds an extra step for configuration, I can't find the doc I wrote, only a screen shot!
from the console root components, follow computer properties, msdtc and there's a security setting which needs to be set.
Had me confused after putting sp1 on w2003 !! ( hope this is what you need )
search ms site for id 817064
