I guess all SQL server edition available via MSDN, except for Developer, are trial; but I couldn't find any details about it on MSDN site.
Is it right?

Yes most of them are. However if you would like a slim down version I would suggest the new SQL Server 2008 R2 express edition. They have changed the database limit from 4 gb to 10gb. Also it is totaly free and you can freely distribute it with your applications.
As for the cost of Developer it was a Drop in the bucket. I bought my copy from newegg.com for around $50 dollars. That was because I wanted to use it for getting my Certifications.

That depends - do you have an MSDN subscription? If not, then they are evals. If you have an MSDN subscription, then it depends on your level of subscription as to which ones are fully licensed downloads and which ones are not.

Just wanted to add that when you are on the MSDN subscriber downloads page, that you will be able to generate a key for the product.
Also keep in mind that you can not use an MSDN subscriber download for production use. Testing, demo, and development are ok uses.
