One of my server's msdb database's log file is increasing slowly. its currently 800 MB. data file size is 300 MB. db is in simple recovery mode.
I see an open transaction on this database which is databasemail.
SQL Text shows it's running a SP called sp_readrequest which is invoked by database mail.
I do not want to kill this session. is there a way to prevent the log growth? Why is database mail doing for so long? it didn't send any mail in last 12 hours or so. there are no unsent items.
EDIT:- Wait Type shows BROKER_RECEIVE_WAITFOR. status is suspended

after more than 12 hours, that session is no more active. no open transactions in msdb. log size came back to 45 MB. Nothing done from our side:cool:.
