MSDB Database

    Hello All

    If I wanted to migrate all SQL Jobs and DTS Packages, can I perform a complete backup and restore of the MSDB database?

    I want to get all parts of an existing database to a new server. ie... Jobs, DTS Packages, schedules, Maintenance plans, etc....

    Yes you can.

    But bear in mind that when you restore msdb, you may get all kinds of DTS error messages!  I did!

    I ended up scripting all my jobs to my test server.

    Thanks for the link, Clive!  I had somehow overlooked the fact that you could script jobs.  I script out all my databases on a monthly basis, now I'm adding jobs to that task list.
