Hi,
Is it possible to install and use SQL Server 2000 in windows XP ?
I have tried several times and the installation just stalls.
Would appreciate some advise on this matter.

My installation keeps stalling at: Setup is starting the server and installing your chosen configuration
any ideas what could be causing this and how i can get around it ?
Also do I need a special service pack to install sql server 2000 in Win XP?
thanks in advance,

Which account did you supply to start the services?
Has that account permissions to start a service?

Have you looked for sqlstop.log file located at system root folder? You know the default location for windows xp system root folder is c:\windows this file is a setup log file. Post back if your findings.
