MS SQL 2000 Version Numbers

  • Hi,

Just want to ask the meanings of the SQL Versions when you typed

    select @@version

my test server has the following output: 8.00.2049

the other servers has the following output: 8.00.760

Does the numbers differ per type of SQL Server? (SQL Standard, SQL Enterprise, SQL Personal, etc)

  • Not sure if you've fully expanded the results or not...but if you pick tools-options and select "results to text" under the results tab, you'll find it more readable and therefore more comprehensive....you can see then what edition is being used....

you can go to this site for an informative chart on the build numbers and service packs.

**ASCII stupid question, get a stupid ANSI !!!**
