Havent tried any 3rd party tool for replication so can't help much. I've found replication to be very reliable, just have to look at your situation to see if replication is a good fit. Transactional picks up all changes from the log and distributes to subscribers which are typically (and most easily) read only. Merge uses triggers and assumes updates can be made anyplace hosting the data, applies rules to keep the data in sync, especially if collisions occur. Sync is not quite the same as replication. Sync is usually the process of bring your subscription up to date

Does that mean the MS replication is far sucecessful to choose as a long term soltion.
If i have enable Cont. Trans repliccation b/w 2 SQL server(for one Databses around 2 Gb in size). , taht means the the 2 Db states will be matched thru changes in logs ..
What about if , the schema also changes let say daily or 2 times in a week.
Then how should I deal with it?
will trans replication recognize the schema changes ?
preety confued b/w repliaction and synch..
Thanks to all kind souls !!

I use transactional a lot, absolutely no issues. SQL2K allows you to add/drop replication columns (requires a process separate from a standard alter) but will push that change to all subscribers. Still can't change a column. It is possible to 'fake' it and to do the same in SQL7, just have to learn the tricks!
