Someone at my place has installed a clustered instance with the system databases on a local drive.
I need to move them to my clustered san drive. Fine. But, what do I do about the resource database.
This also lives on the local drive. But the advice is not to move it.
I have no test system, hence asking your advice.
Presumably, in order to have my clustered instance able to fail over I have to move it?
If so, what are the correct steps?
Thank you.

2008 R2 btw, I guess that's implied from the forum but just to be clear. Thank you!

the resource database should be on a local drive, leave it where it is.

How does it work during a failover?

the install process (add node) puts a copy of the resource database on each node. It is considered to be the same as any of the .exes or .dlls as far as the install is concerned.
