Moving SQL Server 2000 to new domain

    Hi all,

    I am moving a server from one domain to another. On the server, it has remote server referring to itself. Would this be an issue, when I move the server to another domain.

    No IP or name change of the server. Just the domain.

    Sorry been a while since I have done. You most likely will run into issues with user accounts referencing the old domain that will need to be dropped and added again.

    I would first make sure the SQL Server is set to mixed mode authentication and create a user account for yourself on the SQL Server with administrator rights so you have a way back just in case. Especially if you dropped the Builtin/Admin group from SQL logins.

    Would there be any issues with the remote server? Its pointing to itself by name.
