My boss ask me to move the SQL Server 2000 instance from the server A to a new MSCS cluster (where server A will be one of two nodes) without uninstalling it … I don’t think this is possible but he wants a proof (link/technical articles). Thanks for helping me.

If you did not install SQL Server as a cluster node, you cannot make it a cluster node. You'll have to reinstall it, or install a named instance as a clustered node.

Thanks !
I also find this : http://blogs.msdn.com/sqlserverfaq/archive/2008/04/27/how-to-convert-a-standalone-instance-of-sql-server-into-an-clustered-instance.aspx .
(In fact "in my boss head" everything is "so easy", he thougth he can add the SQL instance just with Cluster Administrator ... )

now that is interesting. Is your cluster already set up in Windows?
I had always installed cluster or had to move an instance to a new server because of the hardware limitations.
The worse case if you try that procedure is that you'll mess up and have to uninstall/reinstall. Let us know if it works. Not sure it's easy, but doesn't look too bad.
