Hi jeff i know that is forum is too old but i want to know ur how did u migrated it to the new server
The folks in OPs set up a new domain for us in NY and we sent out a two week notice to everyone that the system would be down for a given weekend for the migration.
They flew a courier out to us on Friday night. While he was in the air, we took our systems down (ie: made it so the users could no longer get to it), did our final compressed RedGate backups to tape, and handed them to the courier on Saturday morning. He carried them back to NY, they restored the tapes to the new servers, changed the IP addresses, and reenabled logins.
It would have been perfect and we'd have actually been backup up in less than 24 hours except that someone grabbed the wrong tapes (10 days old instead of the most recent ones) and handed them to the courier and one of our guys had to spend most of Sunday doing a data diff and doing a long haul transfer. It was the most stupid thing I've seen anyone have to do in a long time just because someone didn't pay bloody attention.

Hi Jeff,
My question is if we have a publisher and distributor on the same server how can we migrate it to the new server.
Thnkz Jeff
