I have a system that has a number of DTS Packages stored locally, how can I move them from Dev to Prod -> AND <- retain formating, annotations etc.
I've tried the DTSBackup utility, and even my own VB program using DTS / Package ... constructs.
I expect to be moving them regularly, and more so with other systems ??
I can move them individually, for now OK there are 8, but I could see hundreds.

Try DTSBackup 2000 at sqldts.com
http://www.sqldts.com/default.aspx?220,272,272,1,1
If you're moving the packages between SQL Servers, make sure you have 'Direct Transfer' select in the options. This will preserve the formatting and annotations.
Really though, you shouldn't worry about the formatting and annotations. We've got over 100 packages here and it's too much work to try and maintain the formatting, etc...
Maybe Microsoft will make these things more persistent in the next release.
