Moving Domain

I'm looking for some clarity on how, or if a SQL server (various versions 2008R2 through to 2014) can be migrated to a new domain. I have found / been told conflicting info. Can anyone point me to a source stating if this can / can't be done.

Is it a standalone instance on a server that's a member of a current domain or is it a clustered instanced of sql server on a WSFC?

It's currently a member of a domain and is a clustered server too.
