Hi,
We a distribution box which is EOL(End of Life) we want to replace the existing distribution box to a new one. Please let me know how to move the distribution db from one box to another. My Plan is
1. Generating Replication Scripts.
2. Generating logins scripts on the distribution box
3. Hold the replication jobs
4. Take backup of master, msdb, model and distribution db from the existing distribution box.
5. Restore them on to the new distribution box.
6. Run the login scripts on the distribution master db.
Note: the new box will have the same name as the existing box. Please let me know if i had missed any steps

Restoring master in a "new" server is tricky ....
Take a look here: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic490956-357-1.aspx

Hey,
If you do that then that will be the last day of your job because reconfiguring the replication requires generation of new snapshot and if the db in terabytes which takes days to flow from publisher to subscriber.
Thanks
