Hi everyone,
Based on your experience, what's the best way to move the jobs from SQL 2K to 2005? Thanks in advance.

use SSIS
just make sure the db's are on the new server along with operators, etc

Thanks for your response.
Once I move to 2005, I won't have access to the 2000 databases. Is there a way to save the jobs and import them to 2005 later?

Backup msdb and restore it on a developpement server (that will remain online).

When we went from 2000 to 2005 we created scripts of the jobs and ran the scripts to re-create the jobs on the new 2005 server. If you create scripts and save them in Source Safe or something then you'll have a copy of the code without needing access to the old server. If you have hundreds of jobs this may be unweildy. We only had about 10 jobs.

Thank you, I'll create scripts since we only have about a dozen jobs.
