We have a SQL Server 2000 ent edition sp4 with 3 small databases and one 4 GB database which is REPLICATED
The Server has been bouncing like a yoyo today because of a disk controller problem and I am preparing to move the Instance to a whole new server this afternoon. The new Server will have the same IP and name as the original server. Any suggestions for the easiest or most seamless way to make this happen? Backup and Restore, detach attach, replace mdf and ldf files, ... any suggestions would be appreciated.

for anyone interested. I did a full set of system backups and then scripted out my publication.
reinstalled on a new server. started sql server in single user mode and restored the master.
restarted and restored model, msdb then distributor and my user DB for replication then ran the scripts to rebuild the publication. rebooted and everything came up fine.
