  ApexSQL used to have a tool that mounted a native backup file as a database. It looks like they don't offer that anymore. HyperBac is gone from Redgate. Idera bundled SQL Virtual DB into their SQL Safe Backup product, but it doesn't support native compressed backups from SQL 2014. Does anyone know of a current product that doesn't suffer from that limitation?

  I don't know of anyone that has these. I think the tech was ok, but not commercially viable.
