When right-click on one of my publications and explore the latest snapshot folder there is stuff in the folder from over a month ago. I thought the snapshot folder is cleaned-up routinely. So when I drop and re-add subscriptions they become pending and error with: the snapshot for the publication is obsolete. Is that the reason? Should I delete the snapshot folder.
I don't know what's happening here. I think it has something to do with having no activity from the subscriber(s) for over a month. I can't seem to re-add the subscribers as I've done successfully many times before. Help!

What type of replication are you using?
Its possible that if no data has been updated no snapshot has been created. When you set up replcation there is a option to remove subscribers after a set amount of time.

Thanks.
I thiok you're correct but how do I go about correcting this problem The mergeshot folder contains information that's over a month old. Do I delete this folder so a new snapshot can then be created?

no
SQL will do this work for you. Just re-snapshot the data.
