monitoring SQL Servers without Admin access

  • hello again!

I currently do not have administrator access to the 4 SQL Servers I would like to keep reports on, but I would like to be able to monitor performance and maintenance plans. (WinServer2003 and WinNT)

What is a good strategy for being able to monitor these elements if I cannot access each server with an admin account ? Is it possible to simply monitor performance/backups/integrity/etc through enterprise manager for reports ?

    thanks!

  • how can I be granted access to monitor through client access Enterprise Manager (from an XP machine) without disturbing the function of each SQL Server ?

this is probably an annoyingly simple situation, but I'd really appreciate the help.

    thanks!
