What do you mean by monitoring from client end? The job / backup would run on a server and if need to know you need to connect at least from your workstation (using SSMS).
Pardon, for not understanding your question, a little bit of more info would be better.

Hi,
If i don't have access to the server so i want to monitor the jobs & backups from the client end, are there any commands to monitor from the client end?

If you don't have access to server, then you cannot access the info.
Do you have SSMS and trying to retrieve from it? (No Remote Desktop to Server)
What do you mean by not having access to server?

what i mean i don't have permission to access the server,so i want to know the status of jobs/backups from the client.i have ssms.

If you don't have access to the server then you cannot check the Job status.
And, why would you worry about a server where you are not given access permissions? May be the DBA has wanted not to give that permissions, so be it.
Moreover, if you have permissions to connect to that server, you need to have appropriate permissions to view SQL Job activity monitor or query the tables in MSDB Database.

Although it's not free - you may take a look at SQL Stripes, which will give you push notifications on any failed jobs on any of your servers.
