Are your client tools upgraded to the same level as the server?

Jeffrey has what I'd have written if I were a little quicker. Having different versions on the client and server can cause lots of issues.
If you edit on the server and save, does it work?

I did changes on server itself not from client.

From a query window execute SELECT @@VERSION and also from SSMS go to Help | About and show us the results for both. These kinds of errors can generally be tracked back to a difference between the client and the server.
If you are not on 9.0.3054 or greater - then you definitely will need an upgrade. That version was the original release of SP2 and it has known issues with maintenance plans.
