Since last week Friday all our sql2000 mmc crash when we use the register server wizard and have it browsing for servers.
AppName: mmc.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.0 ModName: semsfc.dll
ModVer: 2000.80.760.0 Offset: 00020429
My windows-admins are searching if it might be related to some security-hotfixes they've instaled, bot they don't have a clue yet.
Anyone over here experiencing the same leap ?

You didn't say what service pack you're running. You may want to try installing or re-applying SQL Server SP3 and see if this helps. Can you ping the servers from the workstations you're attempting to connect from? If so, TCP/IP is working but SQL Server can't connect as this is one of the main dll's used by MMC. Failing that, you may need to re-install the client on the affected workstations. FYI - we loaded the MS04-004 and 007 security patches on all our systems and I haven't seen this problem...yet. Hope this helps and best of luck.

all clients are on winXP sp1 with SQL2k sp3a (re-apply did not help).
ping is no problem.
I can register the sqlserver when I don't have EM browsing for servers.
SQLServiceManager also flips and crashes.(it always browses for servers)
It looks like drWatson dumps, but I cannot determine why it occures since last week.
If I come up with something, I'll post it.
