I uninstalled an instance of sql server 2005 and now I no longer have Configuration Manger. When I try to open I get the error message:
MMC Cannot open C:......\SqlServermanagerr. msc
How do I reinstall this?
I tried running setup from disc and since it is a newer version than sp2, will not let me reinstall anything. Also tried going to add/remove programs and change it with no results.

Did you try Add/Remove Programs through the Control Panel?
Click on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and click the Change button. This should allow you to install the Workstation components.

Disregard. I just read the whole thing and saw that you tried. that. Have you tried copying over the .msc file from another system to the path where it is looking for it?

What happens when you double-click the .msc from the folder itself?

I cannot reinstall since there is a newer version. I am however able to use configuration manager when i log onto the server as service sql. Where do I set the permissions to use configuration manager as an sa user.
