Missing OLE DB Provider

  • What am I missing?

I recently modified a DTS to go from having to be ran on the Server to being able to be ran on a Client.  Problem is, the client's Enterprise Manager doesn't have the "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server".  I have tried reinstalling the software with no luck.  Looks like all the other Microsoft OLE DB Providers are there.

The client can "see" the Server with no problems, it opens the DTS with no problems.  However, due to the missing provider the DTS is unusable.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

  • you tried re-installing what software?  Can you install the "tools" only on the client?

  • Yeah, this was one of the first things I tried.  I have all the other Microsoft OLE DB providers except for the SQL Server one, which I need.  To top it off, I have check other local machine and they all have this provider, just the machine I need it on is missing it.

Is there a library I can move over or something of that nature?

    Thanks.

  • Problem solved.  I had to re-register the oledb32.dll, once I did that everything worked fine.
