I am running SQL Server 2008, and have recently been handed over all the SSAS packages to manage.
I have one package I can see and process when I connect to Analysis Server in SSMS, but I cannot find the actual package to open BIDS. Our process is to store all production SSAS solutions in one place - however this one is missing from the folder. It runs and processes when connecting to the Analysis Server in Management Studio, but we need to access the actual BIDS package to edit it.
Can someone someone tell me if there is a way to find the actual BIDS package using the information in SSMS? Thanks!!

In BIDS if you go to New Project, in the analysis services menu you have an option to Import from Server. This will create a BIDS package from your SSAS database after going through a short wizard. You can then save this package wherever you want. If you lose it again, repeat the process 😀
