Excellent!! That's why I always ask those types of questions, because even the most experienced person sometimes overlooks the simplest thing. I know I do.
I call this an "is it plugged in" question. We've all heard the stories about someone calling tech support because their computer was broken and it turns out that they were in the middle of a power outage. Well, I had a neighbor ask me to look at her VCR player (this was before DVD's), and it was simply unplugged. From that point on, whenever someone asked me about some electronic device that wasn't working, I always started out by asking "is it plugged in?".

LOL that is very true, I always get asked questions about printers and copiers being a "tech" guy even though that is not my area at all. Yesterday I solved an issue by asking them if they turned it off and turned it on.....you would have though I scored the game winning touch down when it started working again....
Thanks again for the extra set of eyes!
