Hi All,
In my environment mirroring was disconnected and principal server status is showing as Principal,disconnected.
When i checked secondary server was down and unable to connect to that server.
I just want to know when it was disconnected how can we know that using any DMV"S or any other process to know it.

Take a look at sys.database_mirroring specifically the mirroring state column

There should be an entry in the SQL log when it disconnects

There is no information in logs

Care to post your logs, obfuscated of course for any critical information, the status messages should get logged
Also take a look at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms365781.aspx for tips on monitoring mirroring.

There is a mirroring monitor in SQL
On the principal database Right Click Tasks -> Database Mirroring Monitor
Select the history button on RHS
change the Filter List by
