Hi Friends,
I did mirroring in 2 server without witness server. SERVER 'A' is principal & SERVER 'B' is mirror server.
Server 'A' is showing DB NAME(Prncipal, Disconnected) & server 'B' is showing DB NAME (Mirror, Restoring)
Could you any one explain me...........

I want to know sarver 'A' (Principal, Disconnected) showing.
I need this meening, like server is down or what? & if server 'A' will down how do i know my server 'A' is down.

With mirroring, only one of both databases can be available at an instance at a single point in time.
So the other is awaiting for log entries, hence in "restoring" state.
Without a witness, you'll have to decide yourself which one is acitve.
If both have ben set in a non-restoring state, SQLMirroring cannot decide for you which one contains the data you want.
