  Hi guys,

  I have been trying to find something usefull that helps me with this error...but imposible, what I found noone gave me a solution....

  Please I hope someone could help me with this....

  Trying to setup my database mirroring I could get my Principal, and mirror server working ok, but when I try to setup my witness it gives me the following error : "The alter database command could not be sent to the remote server instance 'TCP://' the database mirroring configuration was not changed. Verify that server is connected and try again-error: 1456"....

  Any help???

  hi,

  r u still facing this issue...?

  if u are then, check if the principal and mirror server endpoint have encryption enable if so u need to enable them on the witness server as well

  I have never configured witness servers, but most of the configuration errors will be due to End points and their permissions, certificates..

  Make sure that all the servers trust each other with the help of end points. If they are from non-trusted domains, you must create certificates..
