I have a doubt. What we can do if the log file has large grow in the principle server.

you can still shrink it if thats what you mean.
If the log is growing because communication with the mirror is lost, then if you cannot reestablish mirroring you will have to break the mirror so the log can be truncated.

You posted this in mirroring forum, so if mirroring is actually set up you can use the monitor gui for that to see how backed up things are.
Also, a VERY VERY common problem is people having databases in FULL recovery mode but not doing any form of TLOG backup. A FULL backup will NOT flush committed transactions from the tlog!!!
