I use redgate's SQL monitor to monitor my servers and lately my mirror job is taking longer then usual. It normally completes under a second running every minuted but i get spikes which are happening more frequently and can take up to 20 secs to mirror the data. The servers are literally next to each other so its not a network issue.
I get alerts in this order normally
Job name:Database Mirroring Monitor Job
Job started at:10 Oct 2013 10:23 AM
Job ended at:10 Oct 2013 10:23 AM
Job outcome:Succeeded
Duration:00:00:08
Baseline duration (median of last 10 runs):00:00:00
Deviation from baseline:--
Job next scheduled to run at:10 Oct 2013 10:43 AM
Followed by
Job name:Distribution clean up: distribution
Job started at:10 Oct 2013 10:25 AM
Job ended at:10 Oct 2013 10:25 AM
Job outcome:Succeeded
Duration:00:00:12
Baseline duration (median of last 10 runs):00:00:00
Deviation from baseline:--
Job next scheduled to run at:10 Oct 2013 10:45 AM
Do you guys/gals know any counters or tests i can use to try find out why this latency is occurring?
Thanks

Although they are next to each other, they presumbaly plug into a network switch, is this the same switch or different switches?

They are both connected to 2 different switches in case one of the switches fails. Both are connected to switch A and both are connected to Switch B.

Yes they are teamed, one can transfer only and the other can transfer and receive. Both seem to be running fine with no faults.
