Migration to SQL 2008 Reporting Services

    Hello,

    My company decided to migrate the SQL Server 2005 to SQL 2008 starting with reporting services in the initial phase. I need to know any information about how the SQL Server 2008 reporting service will interact with SQL Server 2005 Transactional server. Any info regarding the same will help me. Thanks in advance.

    I think it won't arise any problem nehalpanchamia. You can easily retrieve the data from SQL 2005 for SSRS 2008.

    It's easier. Run the install for SQL Server 2008 on your server, choose the upgrade option. Done.

    Takes maybe 15 minutes, give or take. It really is remarkably easy.

    Edit: You still want to do a backup anyway right before upgrading, just in case. But more than likely you won't need it.
