Hi,
I need to migrate SQL 2000 to SQL 2008.
The path I want to take is backup SQL 2000 and restore to SQL 2008 compatibility mode 80. Then run the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Upgrade Advisor to check for any issues.
But when I do this I get following error
"SQL Server version: 10.00.5500 is not supported by this release of Upgrade Advisor, only SQL 2000 or SQL 2005 is supported.
I need help with this issue as I cannot restore the 2008 data base in compatibility mode 80 on to 2000 and run the upgrade advisor.

From the download page for upgrade advisor "Upgrade Advisor analyzes instances of SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 to help you prepare for upgrades to SQL Server 2008." This means you run upgrade advisor BEFORE upgrading to see what issue might arise. You have already upgraded your database. You may be running it in compatibility mode 80 but the database has still been upgraded already. If you still have a copy on your SQL 2000 instance run the upgrade advisor there.
