Migration of reports

    Hi,

    i have to migrate so many reports to another server but with same permission. is there a way to copy and import it to new server.

    this will reduce a lot of time for me.

    Hi,

    I can have the DB backup but the issue is earlier i use to share a server with other team now i have a individual server, so i coudn't do it directly.

    there i dont have access to some folders.

    any other ways.

    There isn't a tool within ReportManager to copy another server. Could you redploy the reports from the new server from BIDS? You would need to re-setup security though on the new server.

    No tool from within ReportManager itself, but you could create a script using rs.exe to make this happen. If you don't want to create the script yourself check out the Reporting Services Scripter from http://www.sqldbatips.com/showarticle.asp?ID=62. It's what I use to do all of my migrations from Dev to QA to Prod etc...
