  Hi

  We are planning to migrate our SQL Server 2005 standard version to SQL Server 2008 Enterprise in the near future.

  Our current SQL 2005 server has 4 instances and we have some dot.net apps interacting with the databases.

  I need to know the key stages in our migration plan and what's our best option for ensuring a successful migration with any known pitfalls to watch out for.

  Is there a migrate option that takes all the instances, databases and all associated objects?

  Does migrating from 2005 standard to the 2008 Enterprise version add any more problems?

  Any help is much appreciated.

  Have you investigated running the Upgrade Advisor Tool to get a clearer picture of what will/will not fail?
