We're building new SQL 2005 servers and need to migrate from our old SQL 2000 servers. What's the best method to import the system databases, including the DTS packages & Logins ?

You can't import SQL 2000 system databases into SQL 2005. IMO, the best option for moving logins and jobs is to script them out in SQL 2000 and run the scripts in SQL 2005. I found the easiest way to move DTS packages was to save them to the file system then import it into SQL 2005 by using the "Import Package File" option in SSMS Object Explorer -> Management -> Legacy -> Data Transformation Services. I'm assuming you want to preserve them as DTS packages rather than migrate them to SSIS.

I found that there's a wizard to transfer DTS packages from 2000 to 2005. I ran it for 1 package, and it succeeded, but I go to my 2005 machine and can't find it !?!? i was expecting it to show up in "Management" -> "Legacy" -> "DTS" What am I missing ?
EDIT: Nevermind. I needed to Export the package from 2000, them import into 2005, not use the wizard.
